Visit to Scottish Parliament

A group of cadets today had the opportunity to visit the Scottish Parliament.

After a parade in Maybole MSP Cathy Jamieson was so impressed by the Cadets she invited them to see around the Scottish Parliament. 11 cadets and two staff were shown the building by Paul Kilby, the personal assistant to
Cathy, on Wednesday 22nd November. On the day of the visit Cathy was attending a meeting in Dunblane and was unable to meet the cadets. Part of the visit was to the offices of the MSP's and the cadets shown in the first
picture are shown sitting in one of the famous window seats that MSP's can use to think about the problems of parliament. The other picture shows the assembly hall where Paul is showing the cadets how MSP's vote. Once the session started we were seated in the front row of the balcony to listen to the day's proceedings. The first topics were not that interesting but Santa was in the balcony waiting for the decision on opening shops on Christmas
day. We had to leave to avoid the rush hour traffic before the vote was taken.
